New Center for applied research of new materials and technology transfer was opened in the area of Slovak Academy of Sciences on Dúbravská road in Bratislava. The opening ceremony was held on December 10, 2015 and leaders of the SAS and Ministry of Education of Slovak Republic were attended at the ceremony.
Center includes five excellently equipped high-tech laboratories and the total cost of the project financed under the Operational Programme Research and Development amounted to almost 25 million Euro. Part of the center is the Office of Technology Transfer also.
Chairman of Slovak Academy of Sciences prof. Pavol Šajgalík emphasized the importance of the center for the Slovak Academy of Sciences and the overall scientific and industrial spheres. Research in the new center is focused on ultralight structures (metal) materials, materials for high temperatures and extreme conditions (ceramics), composites, nanomaterials and materials for electrical engineering.
